The article’s title looked like this:
All I will say is: AMERICA….REPENT!!!!
Important
I’ve seen a few similar articles. They are full of all sorts of interesting arguments. Watch out for cities named Nineveh and Salem! I’m never surprised anymore by the various conclusions folks draw from literally anything. There is no shortage of radical interpretations in our world.

The great eclipse of 2024; is it a signal of the end times?
Does this mean that God will cast America into shadows and leave us awaiting the final judgment?
Does it mean we should, as a nation, repent of our sins?
Not exactly. Not exactly. Probably, but that is true eclipse or not.
And since we are all still here, I guess we can dismiss this being a cataclysmic judgment scenario where God wiped out everyone…

The reality is that God has historically used great cosmic events to signal the end of nations, peoples, and eras. He used such when speaking through numerous prophets of the coming doom of various pagan nations, and even occasionally His own nation (see Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah, etc.).
Jesus spoke in cataclysmic terms in the NT to indicate signs of impending judgment (see Matt. 24; Mark 13; Luke 21). Yet, the context would argue that all of those judgment passages are about Jerusalem (which is another article for another time).
The point is that God has used strong cosmic imagery to indicate impending judgment or destruction throughout the Biblical narrative.
Maybe we should simplify this discussion greatly.
— Has God used cosmic events to signal judgment or distraction against nations before? Yes.
— Does that mean He is doing this now? No.
— Even if He was doing that now, do we have any way of knowing? No.
— Should the nation repent? Yes.
— Why? Because sin is never right or good or justifiable. If a nation is embroiled in celebrating sin, they should repent regardless of what the sun, moon, and stars do. They should repent because sin is an insult to the holy God who sits as King over all the earth.
— Does this in some way mean the end is near? No. The end has technically been “near” since the gospel age began (see Rom. 13:11-14; I Thess. 4:13-5:11).
